With over thirty years of government, political and professional lobbying experience, Mr. Barrella has long been recognized as one of New York’s top lobbyist. His unmatched charisma, attention to detail and hands-on approach are characteristics that not only help attract elite clientele, but are also the reasons behind Capitol Group’s high rate of lobbying success.
Recent accomplishments include securing millions of dollars in state funding for a major research and development facility, delivering substantial regulatory, legislative and procurement results for national and global clients like Microsoft, Symantec, Wendy’s International, Inc., Waste Management, and Rite Aid Corporation.
Prior to forming Capitol Group, LLC, Mr. Barrella was Partner at Capitol Insight, LLC and was responsible for the firm’s lobbying practice. Prior to that, Mr. Barrella served as Director of Government Affairs for Capitol Hill Management Services, a lobbying and association management firm. During his seventeen years of public service, Mr. Barrella held several high-level positions in New York State government including Director of the NYS Housing Finance Agency and Executive Director of the NYS Health Planning Commission. Mr. Barrella also had the distinction of serving two New York Governors -- Governor Hugh L. Carey and Governor Mario M. Cuomo. Mr. Barrella holds a BA from Manhattan College. |

Mr. Sheridan joined Capitol Group, LLC almost ten years ago and has been a significant reason for the firm’s success over the last decade. Mr. Sheridan’s astute no-nonsense approach to lobbying and government affairs has allowed him to deliver successful results for our clients time after time.
Recent client accomplishments include embarking on a major political battle that ultimately prevented the State Legislature and the Governor from improperly seizing millions of dollars in state revenue earmarked for a major statewide association, orchestrating the passage of a groundbreaking law to promote a statewide tourism and recreation initiative and blocking the passage of a law detrimental to New York’s pharmacy industry.
In addition to over twenty years of lobbying and government affairs experience, Mr. Sheridan has held several high-ranking positions in state government and private industry. These positions include Program Research Analyst for the Office of the Assembly Speaker, Assistant Vice President for Government Affairs for the NYS Urban Development Corporation, Director of Governmental Affairs for Governor Mario M. Cuomo, Director of Government & Member Services for the NYS Business Council, and Director of Scheduling for Governor Hugh L. Carey. Tim is a graduate of Niagara University. |

Mr. Claridge is known as a business savvy public affairs professional. With over fifteen years of experience in government, politics, and business, Mr. Claridge provides lobbying, government and public relations services to various clients ranging from statewide trade and labor organizations to emerging market and Fortune 500 companies.
Notable accomplishments include lobbying for a New York State tax credit law for hybrid vehicles, securing millions in state and local assistance for a major economic development initiatives, and successfully lobbying to increase state funding for children with disabilities. Mr. Claridge has also developed and managed successful public affairs campaigns that helped established a New York State Charter School, launched a family-oriented not-for-profit fitness facility and tripled the gross revenue of a New York-based information technology company.
While in government from 1994 to 2003, Mr. Claridge served in various high-level communications and public policy capacities in the NY State Assembly, Senate, NYS Department of Taxation and Finance and Governor George E. Pataki’s administration. Mr. Claridge co-founded a public affairs firm called Access Strategies & Promotions, LLC in 2003 before joining Mercury Public Affairs, LLC in August of 2005 as Regional Director. From 2006 to 2008, Mr. Claridge served as Vice President of Fleishman-Hillard Government Relations, NY (formerly Mercury Public Affairs, LLC).
Mr. Claridge successfully completed the New England Senior Executives Program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and holds a B.A. in Political Science from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. Mr. Claridge also makes guest appearances as a political analyst on Capital News 9’s Capital Tonight with Brian Taffe in Albany, NY. He is also an active member of the Children of War Foundation, Kingston, NY and Partner in Armor Dynamics, Inc, Kingston, NY. |
